Join us to watch and discuss the gripping documentary “I Am Evidence”.  I AM EVIDENCE tells the story of four survivors whose rape kits went untested for years. It follows them as they navigate their way through the criminal justice system and learn that, so often, the system is broken. The film reveals how we have treated the crime of sexual assault in this country and shows the positive results when perpetrators are held accountable and survivors are given the opportunity to heal.

Captain Monica Alexander, with the Washington State Patrol, will speak briefly after the film and answer questions during the discussion. She is the person in Washington State law enforcement taking the lead in getting the rape kits tested. Past Seattle NOW Co-President Susan Lebow will also be on hand to open the event.
