Vision 2020, http://www.drexel.edu/vision2020/, is an exciting national project based in Philadelphia to celebrate the centennial of women’s suffrage in 2020 by creating a decade of action, 2010-2020, to promote gender equality and women’s leadership.
Your group can participate by nominating your leaders to be National Delegates. The selected Delegates will have their expenses paid to participate in Vision 2020’s historic American Conversation about Women and Leadership at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia , October 21-22, 2010. This conference will set an agenda for change for the decade that follows.

Vision 2020 Delegate Nomination Form
Thank you for your interest in Vision 2020: An American Conversation About Women and Leadership, a project dedicated to creating a decade of education and action to promote gender equality, starting with an issue-setting session at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on October 21-22, 2010, and culminating with a celebration in Philadelphia of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution on October 21, 2020.
Vision 2020 invites nominations for 102 National Delegates, two women from each state and the District of Columbia, to participate in identifying and framing the issues that Vision 2020 will study and act on in the decade leading to the anniversary of women’s suffrage in the following areas:
- Arts and Culture
- Business, Law and Finance
- Communications and Media
- Engineering, Science and Technology
- Philanthropy, Faith and Voluntarism
- Politics and Government
Vision 2020 National Delegates will attend the agenda-setting meeting on October 21-22, 2010 in Philadelphia to meet with subject-matter experts on gender equality in each of these seven areas. Vision 2020 will provide transportation and lodging for the National Delegates.
Vision 2020 will select National Delegates who meet the following criteria:
- She is a leader in or affiliated with an organization (professional, social, or grassroots) that is working in one of the seven topic areas above.
- She is willing to mobilize her individual and professional resources to bring about positive change in one of the seven topic areas and to implement elements of the decade-long Vision 2020 agenda.
- She has a demonstrated commitment to helping women and/or girls.
- She commits to serving a three-year term as a Delegate with Vision 2020 (2010-2013), attending the 2010 Conversations and the follow-up conferences in subsequent years, as an active participant, sharing ideas and advocating for her positions.
- She contributes to a diverse group of Delegates who reflect the full range of American women in age, race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation.
Please submit nominations for Proposed Delegates online by March 1, 2010. Delegates will be selected and notified by the end of March, 2010.

We are going to have a very diverse group of delegates and are making a big push to include younger women too. Since many of us organizers are “veterans” like you, our networks tend to be older. That is a huge challenge so feel free to nominate younger women you know—daughters of your members for example.
